Quick Update

November 6, 2011

My once-a-week blog has turned into a once-every-two-weeks blog.

It’ll get back on schedule, I promise you.  The past few weeks have been utterly crazy and to be honest, updating my blog has been the last thing on my mind.

Okay, actually, that’s a lie.

I’ve thought about updating my blog every single day since the last post.  I don’t forget about it.  It’s constantly on my “to do” list.  It just hasn’t been at the top lately.

Last weekend was my birthday.  I’m sure you don’t care about that very much, but the party and the Halloween event I’d planned for the next day both ate up most of my time for the days preceding it.

And then, somewhat out of the blue, I got the chance of a lifetime – a person whose work I greatly admire asked for my resume.  Two days of interviews later, including an aptitude test, and by Tuesday evening I’d gotten a job offer.  It’s a two-month contract position writing/editing for a fairly well-known company – the company I had hoped to eventually work for.  It’s my dream job.

It means that I don’t have a lot of free time for myself, and I may have to abandon NaNoWriMo. I’m already three thousand or so words behind and counting.

It also means that I have a chance at doing the thing I love.

Once things settle down, I’ll be back on track. Until then, posts may be few and far between.

  1. Really?? Congrats!! You must tell me more!! And NaNoWriMo went down hill for me too. Being sick when it started sort of killed it. It’s hard to write when you’re sleeping and delusional. :/
I’m so excited for you! ❤
